Volunteer Mentor to Startup Founders in Sustainability

Hourglass Impact is seeking Volunteer Mentors to support startup founders in sustainability. Mentors will provide strategic insights, industry expertise, and personal advice to help founders navigate challenges and refine their business models. Candidates should have at least 5 years of experience in business, tech, or sustainability. Commitment includes two 30-minute virtual sessions per month. This role offers a chance to make a real impact while working remotely.

• Role Overview

- We are seeking experienced professionals to join our mentor network and provide guidance to startup founders. As a mentor, you will:

- Offer strategic insights and industry expertise to help founders refine their business models, develop products, and scale sustainably.

- Provide professional and personal advice, helping founders navigate challenges such as avoiding burnout, maintaining resilience, and overcoming setbacks.

- Share industry knowledge to help founders avoid common pitfalls and accelerate their progress.

- Leverage your network to connect founders with relevant stakeholders, investors, or potential collaborators where appropriate.
• Who We Are Looking For

We welcome professionals with experience in one or more of the following areas:

1. Business & Commercial Strategy

- Product development, Business development, Marketing & branding, Go-to-market (GTM) strategy, Fundraising & investor relations

2. Artificial Intelligence & Technology

- AI consulting & implementation, AI integration & automation, Technical expertise in AI-driven solutions

3. Domain Expertise in Sustainability

- Scientists and researchers in sustainability fields, Experts in circular economy, climate tech, and impact-driven solutions
• Commitment & Expectations

- Minimum of 5 years of professional experience in your respective field.

- Willing to commit to at least two 30-minute virtual mentoring sessions per month.

- Strong interpersonal and communication skills to effectively guide and support founders.

- A passion for startups, sustainability, and driving positive impact.

- No previous mentoring experience required.
