Systems Safety Engineering Intern

REGENT is seeking a Systems Safety Engineering Intern in North Kingstown, RI, to assist in the development of their innovative seagliders. Interns will perform safety analyses, verification, and validation tests on prototypes while collaborating with a multidisciplinary team. This position offers hands-on experience in aerospace vehicle development and requires independent task management. REGENT is backed by notable investors and has significant industry interest.
REGENT is building the seaglider; the first electric flying machine that will transport commercial passengers. With a vehicle that never flies higher than a few meters off the water, we unlock the ability to fly twice as far as an electric aircraft, and certification by maritime authorities which will let us fly first passengers by mid-decade.

REGENT is seeking a Systems Engineering Intern to help with the development of REGENT’s seagliders. You will learn practical skills and gain real world experience while working on the cutting edge of novel aerospace vehicle development.

Working on our systems engineering team, you will develop, perform, and document system-level and subsystem-level safety analyses and verification/validation tests for our prototype seagliders. As an intern, you’ll help with the verification and validation of various subsystems on our full-scale prototype along with ensuring the compliance of our requirements to external regulations.

This will involve working with engineers from multiple disciplines and learning about the different influences on our design requirements (business needs, safety analyses, industry standards and regulations) throughout the prototyping and productization processes. You will be part of a small, multidisciplinary team at REGENT, but must be capable of working independently on assigned tasks.
