Job Description
Osborne Richardson seeks a Sustainable Transport Planner for a 3-month contract in East London. The role involves improving air quality through technical support for SMEs and neighboring boroughs, acting as an ambassador for the Zero Emissions Network. Strong communication skills are essential for engaging with stakeholders and presenting evidence. Candidates should have a relevant town planning qualification and experience in a Local Authority setting. The pay is up to £20 per hour.
Our client is a thriving borough in East London Borough who are undergoing considerable transformation and regeneration. They have a vacancy for a Sustainable Transport Planner to join them for an initial 3 month contract within their Zero Emissions Network (ZEN) team. You will work with partners and stakeholders to improve air quality in the borough by providing technical support and guidance both to SMEs and our clients neighbouring boroughs. You will act as an ambassador for the ZEN programme, encouraging local businesses to sign up and helping them to reduce any negative impact their business may have on air quality and other environmental issues. You will do this by ensuring they understand how to lower their transport and heating emissions which in turn will result in a cleaner, safer environment for the community while helping businesses cut their energy costs.
Strong communication skills are essential as you will act as one of the main points of contact for the team so on a daily basis you will be dealing with senior managers, a wide range of stakeholders and the general public, explaining complex and new approaches to sustainability. You will also be required to present evidence to local forums, negotiate with partners and write technical reports and other correspondence.
The successful candidate will need a relevant town planning degree level qualification, have a strong understanding of sustainable transport within an urban environment and ideally you will have experience of working within a Local Authority setting.
