• Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) Engineer Role
Job Description
We are seeking a detail-oriented Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will conduct LCAs of products, processes, and systems using established methodologies.
The key responsibilities include:
• Conducting cradle-to-grave or cradle-to-gate LCAs using tools like SimaPro, GaBi, OpenLCA, or equivalent.
• Collecting and validating primary and secondary data for material, energy, transport, and end-of-life phases.
• Analyzing environmental impacts including carbon footprint (GWP), water use, energy consumption, and resource depletion.
• Developing LCA models aligned with ISO standards and corporate sustainability goals.
• Generating clear and comprehensive reports and visualizations of results for internal and external stakeholders.
• Collaborating with product design, manufacturing, and procurement teams to identify environmental hotspots and recommend improvements.
• Staying up to date with LCA methodologies, standards, databases, and industry best practices.
• Supporting regulatory and customer requests.
• Contributing to corporate sustainability reporting and eco-labeling initiatives.
Required Skills and Qualifications
To succeed in this role, you will need:
• A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Environmental Engineering, Sustainability, Industrial Ecology, Chemical Engineering, or a related field.
• 2+ years of experience in performing LCAs (entry-level roles may be considered with academic LCA experience).
• Proficiency in LCA software tools such as SimaPro, GaBi, or OpenLCA.
• Familiarity with environmental impact assessment methods.
• Strong analytical, data management, and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Attention to detail and ability to work independently or as part of a multidisciplinary team.
