Sustainable Agriculture Supervisor

The Salt River Pima Maricopa Indian Community is seeking a highly skilled Sustainable Agriculture Supervisor to lead our community garden program. As a key member of our cultural resources department, you will be responsible for overseeing the implementation of sustainable agricultural practices and promoting environmental stewardship within our community.
Key Responsibilities:
• Supervise and mentor a team of staff members, interns, and volunteers in sustainable agriculture practices.
• Develop and implement educational programs for community members, focusing on traditional and contemporary sustainable agriculture practices.
• Oversee the planning and development of a demonstration/community garden, ensuring it serves as a model for sustainable agricultural practices.
• Maintain accurate records of seed bank content, equipment, and supplies.
• Collaborate with other departments and community groups to promote awareness and support for native and traditional food production and consumption.

Requirements:
• Bachelor's degree in Agriculture, Agronomy, Horticulture, Soil Science, or closely related field.
• At least 2 years of full-time experience in sustainable agriculture or a related field, with 1 year of supervisory experience.
• Demonstrated knowledge of sustainable agriculture practices, including organic gardening and permaculture.
• Skill in organizing and prioritizing work, with ability to lift and carry 50 pounds.
• Ability to prepare project status reports and use initiative and independent judgment.
