Job Description

Leggett & Platt is seeking a Sustainability Intern in Carthage, MO, to support ESG initiatives. Responsibilities include collecting sustainability data, assisting with greenhouse gas emissions inventory, and developing a global Sustainability Handbook. Your Role:

Key responsibilities include:
• Collect, compile, and review sustainability data on energy, water, and waste usage.
• Support the greenhouse gas emissions inventory team.
• Share environmental stewardship best practices globally.
• Develop and maintain a global Sustainability Handbook.
• Assist with ESG reporting and compliance activities.
• Align with global sustainability frameworks like GRI, SASB, TCFD, and UN SDGs.
• Develop energy policies and management scorecards.
• Engage in sustainability projects to enhance processes.

About You:

Candidates should have:
• On track to graduate with a 4-year or graduate degree, preferably in Sustainability, Environmental Sciences, Environmental Management, Energy Management, Environmental Engineering, or related fields
• Able to work independently and as a member of a collaborative team
• Strong project and time management skills
• Great analytical skills
• Great communication skills, both verbal and written
• Excellent time management skills
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office programs, especially Excel
• Prior sustainability experience is a plus.
