Sustainability Coordinator

INI Design Studio is seeking a Sustainability Coordinator in Ahmedabad, Gujarat. Role Description:

An ideal candidate should:
• Have a good understanding of Sustainable Design Principles & Analytical Tools (Active & Passive design). Understanding on Green Ratings Systems (LEED, IGBC, GRIHA, etc) and help achieve targeted green rating/certifications working with project design teams.
• Provide sustainability guidance and directions to evaluate (thru analytics) and incorporate green building design features and sustainability practices on various project types like Master Planning layouts, commercial offices, healthcare, hospitality projects, group housing societies, Institutions, etc.
• Collaborate with other project consultants and cross-functional teams MEP, consultant, contractor, client etc. to integrate sustainability principles into building design, construction, and operations.
• Develop and execute strategies aimed at transforming our designs into environmentally sustainable built environments, aligning with globally recognized sustainability benchmarks such as LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design), IGBC, GRIHA (all variants) etc.
• Perform required modelling, simulations, calculations etc (e.g. Lighting, IAQ, Thermal, water, energy, waste etc) using templates & other tools of IGBC/LEED/GRIHA and others.
• Support execution of LEED IGBC GRIHA projects leading to successful interim & final certification
• Prepare necessary LEED, IGBC, GRIHA, etc documentations as per the applicable rating system for the project: Completes green building pre/final documentation on projects as required, leading the preparation and submission of sustainability reports, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and standards & green rating systems.
• Prepare feasibility reports and checklists, green building credit documentation review/submission/follow up/query response.
• Keep records of LEED, IGBC, GRIHA, etc Documents & manage relevant documentation (Online or Filling up templates) for necessary rating systems.
• Attend meetings with necessary stakeholders as and when required: Co-ordinate with necessary stakeholders for obtaining Green Certification documentation as and when required, adopting meticulous project planning & monitoring system, implementing efficient quality control process, and maintaining good relationship with green building council reviewing team till the certification gets awarded.
• Keep records & Update data base on Green Materials & Products: Develops guidelines, information, and educational resources related to green building rating systems.
• Stay updated on emerging trends, best practices, and regulations in sustainability reporting and green building initiatives.

Key Skills:
• Architecture graduate with a strong interest in the environment and green design with 5+ years of experience in the relevant field.
• Passion for green design and commitment to the cause of sustainability.
• Should have understanding and working knowledge about Green Building Certifications and standards (Trainer/certified professional/Evaluator certification is preferred).
• Substantial knowledge of simulation tools for energy, daylighting, renewable energy, wind, daylight, ventilation, and embodied energy analysis.
• Excellent knowledge of Indian and International codes and standards such as ECBC, ASHRAE, NBC etc.
• Perform energy and daylight simulations using software such as ECOTECT, eQUEST etc. and prepare technical reports from results.
• Good understanding of building MEPF systems
• Candidate should have excellent verbal and written communication and presentation skills.
