About the position
The Sustainability Consultant for Venues is responsible for managing comprehensive sustainability advisory projects for professional sports venues. This role involves conducting assessments, generating reports on sustainability baselines, creating operational plans, and guiding customer implementation and strategic planning. The consultant will work with various stakeholders to promote sustainability initiatives, analyze data, and ensure compliance with regulations while maintaining a focus on safety and environmental standards.
Responsibilities
• Consult with customers to identify goals and develop implementation strategies for sustainability.

• Perform full organization sustainability assessments and analyze results to guide environmental initiatives.
,
• Prepare final reports including environmental, social, and economic analysis and present findings to customers.

• Assess procurement and waste management activities and draft materials management plans focused on waste reduction.

• Facilitate materiality assessments for sports venue customers to guide strategic planning.
,
• Integrate environmental justice priorities into program development.
,
• Research and advise on greenhouse gas emissions reduction strategies.
,
• Design project schedules and manage multiple projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines.

• Ensure compliance with customer and government regulations during assessments and program implementations.
,
• Promote a culture of safety by ensuring site personnel are properly trained and comply with regulations.
Requirements
• Bachelor's Degree in Environmental Sciences, Engineering, Sustainability, Architectural Design, Community Planning, Business or related field, or High School Diploma/GED with four years of relevant experience.

• Three years of relevant work experience in project/business management and environmental services industry experience required.

• Experience with conducting greenhouse gas emissions inventory and executing mitigation initiatives is required.
Nice-to-haves
• Prior experience supporting sustainability operations including GHG emissions calculations, LCA, and materials management.

• Experience managing golf sustainability projects with tournament logistics support.

• Knowledge of sustainability trends and risk management frameworks.

• Experience with environmental justice and intersectional environmentalism.

• Experience developing diversity, equity, and inclusion programs.
