Department Statement:

About the Learning Enterprise

We believe that the rigid and linear design of traditional higher education is neither an effective ladder to social and economic opportunity for all learners nor is it responsive to rapidly evolving workforce needs. ASU has responded to these challenges with the creation of Learning Enterprise (LE). We are guided by the belief that everyone should have universal access to education and opportunity. At every stage of life.

LE re-imagines the role of universities in society and evolves the design of learning offerings. These products (LE’s learning offerings) are academically rigorous, tech-enabled, and outcomes-driven. They are stackable, accessible, and evidence-based — designed to respond to the needs of students and employers with the resources and values of the university.

LE‘s initial focus is on the following areas: foundational skills and mindsets, professional and technical career skills and personal development, cultural and civic learning.

Job Description:

Are you passionate about advancing sustainability and conservation initiatives while creating impactful educational opportunities for learners? Do you have a strong background in sustainability, conservation, educational program design, and forming strategic alliances? Arizona State University (ASU) is seeking a dynamic individual to join our Learning Innovations team as a Sustainability and Conservation Fellow. In this role, you will help build the sustainability portfolio within the Learning Enterprise at ASU, creating learner-facing offerings, representing the Learning Enterprise at key sustainability events, and forging strategic partnerships.

Salary Range: $65,000 - $75,000; Depends on experience

Essential Duties:

As the Sustainability and Conservation Fellow, you will help shape and drive the ASU Learning Enterprise’s sustainability strategy while engaging learners through on-the-ground, community-driven educational programs. In the role, you will identify and cultivate strategic partnerships to enhance sustainability initiatives across the ASU ecosystem, advancing significant efforts around water, energy, and carbon. The role will also support significant conservation-focused initiatives in the U.S. and internationally. • Lead sustainability event engagement: Represent/host ASU Learning Enterprise at key sustainability- and conservation-focused events. You will lead efforts to expand ASU’s presence and visibility, serving as the "boots on the ground" for any networking and promotion of ASU’s initiatives, and cultivating partnerships that can lead to further collaborations.

Key Areas of Work:

• Pilot Creation and Scaling: Research, propose, and develop scalable pilot projects focused on sustainability education, ensuring they can be adapted to different community needs while maintaining broad impact.
• Development of Learning Assets: Collaborate with multimedia designers and content creators to develop high-quality, learner-centered sustainability and conservation resources that reflect ASU’s commitment to sustainability. Ensure that all materials are evidence-based, engaging, and accessible to diverse learner populations.

Desired Qualifications:
