CookUnity is hiring a part-time Sustainability Associate in Los Angeles, CA. The role involves ensuring sustainable practices in the facility, monitoring compliance, managing food waste, and supporting sustainability initiatives. The Role:

The Sustainability Associate is the one who ensures that sustainable procedures are followed in the facility. They monitor compliance and report news, compliance or deviations, and the information necessary to achieve sustainability objectives.
Responsibilities:
• Walk throughCookUnity's facilities to ensure that sustainable procedures are followed as they should.
• Classify, weigh, and dispose of Food Waste (donations/compost/garbage/family meals).
• Condition and prepare Food Waste for donations or for internal use (back to market).
• Daily walks through the facility (kitchens, green stations, fulfilment, market) and complete the DAILY AUDIT BIN FORM to detect any contamination.
• Monthly Sustainability Audit form, Assist to the review meetings with the Sustainability team and comply with the corrective actions to improve the final score.
• Coordinate DONATIONS pick up with the Non-profit organization we work with.
• Dispose of COMPOSTABLE materials correctly.
• Give feedback to the people in the everyday work to accomplish Sustainability standards (Create Sustainable behavior).
• Support people as a Green Leader“Go green”.
• Ensure Correct Waste Disposal in all kitchens
• Ensure all supplies to correct waste diversion (Stickers, posters, bins)
• Coordinate with the cleaning team to keep the Green Stations clean and in order.
• Team up with OPS for the success of the Sustainability Programs.

Minimum Requirements:
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Computer skills
• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions.
• Ability to stand for long periods, lift up to 50 lbs., and work in a physically demanding environment.

All final pay rates will be determined by candidates experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data.

Pay Range for this position

$18 - $19 USD
