The Public Interest Network is hiring a full-time Sustainability and Justice Coordinator in Albuquerque, NM. Conservation Advocate Role at Environment New Mexico
The role of Conservation Advocate will play a crucial part in protecting and preserving New Mexico's unique natural spaces. This involves defending the state's wildlife, reducing single-use plastics, and promoting clean energy solutions.
Job Description
As a member of our team, you will be working closely with experienced advocates and organizers who are passionate about environmental conservation. You will have the opportunity to develop your skills and expertise in campaign strategy development, direct advocacy, coalition building, research and writing, communications, fundraising and grassroots support, and recruitment and training.
Responsibilities:
• Develop winning campaign plans and create effective messages and materials.
• Engage with decision-makers to bring environmental problems and solutions to their attention.
• Establish relationships with key players, identify potential allies, and work together to achieve common goals.
• Write persuasive advocacy pieces based on data analysis and research.
• Communicate effectively through media events, press releases, and online articles.
• Secure resources for campaigns through grant proposals and meetings with foundation staff.
• Recruit and train new interns and volunteers to increase our impact and build a stronger grassroots base.
