Job Description

Rundell Ernstberger Associates is seeking civil and environmental engineering students for paid summer internships in Indianapolis, IN, for 2025. Interns will engage in various project development stages, including design and documentation, and will work closely with experienced staff. A capstone project will allow interns to tackle real-world challenges. Candidates should have CAD experience and strong communication skills. Application deadline is February 21, 2025.
REA is accepting resumes and portfolios from civil and/or environmental engineering students for paid internships for our office in Indianapolis, IN. We are open to candidates seeking three-month or six-month long internships/Co-ops.

Overview

As an intern at REA, you will have the opportunity to participate in all stages of project development as part of an interdisciplinary team, including master planning, conceptual/schematic design, design development, construction documentation, permitting, and construction administration. You will work closely with our staff of engineers, landscape architects, and planners on a wide variety of commercial, institutional, and municipal planning and design projects. Specific responsibilities will include assisting project teams with the production of AutoCAD construction documents and details; preparation of conceptual site design plans; preparing quantity take-offs and cost estimates; construction site inspection services; and assisting project managers with client meeting materials and exhibits. Interns will have a wide range of work opportunities to gain real world experience on every aspect of a project.

‍Capstone Project

REA offers a unique experience for our internship program with a capstone project where all interns will develop research or help solve real-world design challenges on a specific topic. At the conclusion of the program, interns will share their project and findings with the entire studio.

What we’re looking for

We value individuals that bring a positive attitude and collaborative spirit. We desire students with strong written and verbal skills, and experience with computer-aided design (CAD) software. Proficiency in AutoCAD, Civil 3D, ArcGIS, or similar tools is desired. Students entering the final year of their degree and desire a six month internship are strongly encouraged to apply.
