Job Description

Qualus is seeking a Strategic Pursuit Lead in Indianapolis, IN, to manage the RFP process and support Business Development and Sales teams. Responsibilities include leading complex bids, developing bidding strategies, mentoring teams, and ensuring timely delivery of proposals. Candidates should have a relevant degree, 7-10 years of experience in proposal management, strong writing skills, and proficiency in Microsoft Office and collaborative tools.
Position Overview

Power your future with Qualus in our Business Development group as a Strategic Pursuit Lead. As a Strategic Pursuit Lead you will support growth and development of Qualus by playing a crucial role in our organization by managing the RFP process from start to finish, including resource balancing. This role supports the Business Development and Sales teams at Qualus to produce high-quality, on-time, and thorough responses to high-value, strategic RFPs, RFQs, and other related bid requests. The ideal candidate is creative, enjoys storytelling, and possesses superior project management, writing, and page layout skills.

Responsibilities
• Lead complex, high value bids as bid manager or other senior support role as required depending on size and complexity of the bid ensuring strategic alignment, competitive positioning, and timely delivery.
• Develop strategies for successful bidding, including supporting pricing strategies, risk assessments, and winning themes.
• Provide leadership in the sales process, working with multi-disciplined teams from across Qualus.
• Champion continuous improvement across proposal workflows and preparation.
• Lead the proposal development process, including meeting client requirements, internal and external schedule milestones, and proposal budget.
• Oversee end-to-end proposal activities from kickoff to submission and post-award follow-up.
• Works independently to ensure timeliness, quality, and delivery of proposal/bid-related documents.
• Coordinate with teaming partners to secure data, resumes, project descriptions, and other components of proposal/bid documents.
• Thoroughly outlines RFP, SOQ, or other requirements to coordinate tasks, assignments, and schedules for the proposal team.
• Work with and mentor marketing coordinators, as needed.
• Regularly follows-up with proposal team on content development deadline.
• Coordinates proposal resources (e.g., proposal team, subconsultant input, graphics development, and input from other teams at Qualus).
• Edits and reviews technical content and all work products for accuracy, quality, and adherence to brand standards.
• Participate in regular reviews of proposal content and supporting materials to maintain integrity of proposal content library.
• Manage concurrent, complex projects under tight deadlines.
• Research answers using automation software and AI-based tools.
• Supports sales interview processes, if needed.

Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Communications, Marketing, English, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
• 7-10 years of experience in proposal coordination, writing or management
• Strong writing, editing, and proofreading skills
• Demonstrated ability to manage deadlines, prioritize tasks, and coordinate inputs from multiple stakeholders
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel), Adobe Acrobat, and collaborative tools (e.g., SharePoint, Confluence, Teams)
• Ability to manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills for cross-functional collaboration
• Attention to detail and ability to follow complex instructions and compliance guidelines

The expected compensation range for this position is based upon several factors, including but not limited toeducation, qualifications, prior relevant work experience and work location.
