Groundwater & Environmental Services, Inc. (GES) , an industry leader with a reputation for excellence in providing environmental consulting, engineering, compliance, and technical field services to clients in diverse market sectors, seeks an Operations, Maintenance & Monitoring (OM&M) Technician to support groundwater treatment project sites in New Jersey.

Position Expectations
• Executes, supervises, and documents field aspects of environmental monitoring, site assessment, remediation, and construction activities, which includes, but is not limited to:
• Applying mechanical knowledge and experience to troubleshoot and maintain equipment such as transfer pumps, flowmeters, filters, and other monitoring equipment.
• Using precision measuring equipment and various hand and power tools.
• Documenting and supervising various trade contractors (i.e. excavation, construction, carbon changeout services, waste disposal).
• Performing general labor, plumbing repairs, and construction duties based on the project requirements.
• Working with groundwater wells, piping and electric well pumps.
• Maintaining equipment calibration logs.
• Recording field data to the specific task performed at each site location.
• Submittal of field data via email using a GES-owned computer.
• Performing system sampling and transporting water samples to the laboratory as needed.
• Following GES engineering, construction, and OM&M policies and procedures.
• Manage and mentor junior staff during large-scale OM&M projects.
• Adhering to GES Health & Safety Standards in all field-related activities.

Skills & Requirements
• A High School diploma or equivalent.
• Valid Driver’s License.
• 5-10 years of related fieldwork experience. Mechanical aptitude is required.
• OSHA 40-hour HAZWOPER certification is a plus. OSHA 40-hour HAZWOPER training will be provided if this certification is not yet earned. This certification is required to perform the duties of this position.
• A New Jersey Industrial Wastewater Treatment System Operator (N) license.
• Current Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC) card is a plus, although not required.
• Must be able to work a flexible schedule to support project needs and be agreeable to outdoor work in varying weather conditions.
• Weekend availability is occasionally required, including after-hours or overnight system alarm responses.
• Must have a strong work ethic, be detail oriented, and a team player.
