Job Description
Scout Motors is hiring a Specialist, Transportation Planner in Blythewood, SC. The role involves optimizing inbound logistics, managing transportation contracts, auditing freight costs, and setting up IT systems for transportation management. Candidates should have over 5 years of experience in transportation network solutions, a relevant degree, and familiarity with logistics activities and regulations. This position is fully on-site and requires in-person collaboration and meetings.
What you'll do
Become part of an iconic brand that is set to revolutionize the electric pick-up truck & rugged SUV marketplace by achieving the following:
• Inbound Logistics Planning and Optimization: Develop logistics concepts for inbound materials from our suppliers worldwide. Optimize existing concepts to enhance our efficiency and sustainability. Follow up on the implementation of measures and asses their effectiveness.
• Transportation Contract Management: Prepare, conduct, and implement logistics RFx activities. That includes writing and aligning the necessary documents like RFIs, RFQs, RFPs, and SOWs. Clear and effective communication and collaboration with internal departments as well as involved 3PLs or 4PLs.
• Freight Cost Auditing: Develop, align and implement processes for freight cost auditing.
• IT System setup: Represent the business unit and technical requirements to be implemented in the transportation management system to ensure a timely rollout of all necessary functionalities.
• Performance Metrics and Reporting: Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) for inbound logistics processes. Create comprehensible reports and use them to derive optimization measures.
• Continuous Improvement: Implement strategies for continuous improvement to enhance efficiency and compliance across all processes.

Location & Travel Expectations:
• This role will be based out of the Scout Motors location in Blythewood, South Carolina.
• This role is fully on-site and requires consistent in-office attendance, as well as participation in regular in-person meetings and events.
• Applicants should expect that the role will require the ability to convene with Scout colleagues in person and travel to participate in events on behalf of the company from time to time.

• 5+ years of proven professional experience in structuring, analyzing, and developing a multimodal transportation network solution, preferably at a North American Automotive OEM is a must.
• Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field. An equivalent amount of relevant work experience may be considered.
• Experience working with 3PLs, 4PLs, and dedicated/asset-based transportation and warehouse service providers as well as knowledge of U.S. DOT regulations and transportation industry is required.
• Practical experience leading logistics RFx activities e.g., RFIs, RFQs, RFPs, for LTL, FTL, expedited, and small-parcel transportation as well as warehousing, and crossdocking services is a must.
• Professional experience with IT systems for truck transport routing and scheduling as well as inventory management and reporting, preferably SAP transportation management is a plus.
• Practical experience with freight cost auditing is a must.
• Professional experience with data analytics and visualization using BI tools like PowerBI is a plus.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and presentation skills.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with internal and external teams.
• Ability to independently work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Creative, collaborative and open mindset and drive to think out of the box.
• Minimum of High School Diploma, GED or equivalent required for all roles at Scout Motors, Inc.

Pay Transparency
This is a full-time, exempt position eligible to receive a base salary and to participate in an annual performance bonus program. Final salary offered will be determined based on factors including but not limited to the candidate's skills and experience. The annual performance bonus program is preset and not candidate dependent.
Initial base salary range = $95,000.00 - $120,000.00
