Invenergy is seeking a Solar Technician for the Maple Flats Energy Center in Louisville, IL. The role involves operating and maintaining a 250 MW-AC solar facility, performing mechanical and electrical maintenance, troubleshooting issues, and ensuring site safety. Candidates should have a high school diploma, technical experience, and be willing to travel. The position requires outdoor work and adherence to safety protocols.

As a Solar Technician, you will be responsible for operating and maintaining Maple Flats Energy Center. Maple Flats Energy Center is a 250 MW-AC solar powered generation facility located in Louisville IL, utilizing TMEIC Ninja inverters, NEXTracker trackers, with and attached substation
Position Overview
As a Solar Technician, you will be responsible for assisting in operating and maintaining the energy site.
Responsibilities
Perform routine mechanical and electrical maintenance on all site solar, substation, and associated equipmentPerform vegetation management, up to operating large equipment to maintain the site per the vegetation management plan.Troubleshoot complicated electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic problems including: Inverter faults, Tracker faults, network communications, ground faults, collection issues, substation issues, and general site performance issues.Understand electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic functions of all components of solar site and associated equipment.Conduct site maintenance daily, wearing all required safety equipment, to inspect, maintain, and repair equipment.The Solar Technician will work a schedule of 7:00am - 3:30pm Monday-Friday (40 hours) and will be subject to scheduled and unscheduled overtime and potential night work. The work schedule will vary during the peak maintenance periods.Maintain company tooling, facilities and equipment and a clean safe work environment
Required Skills
High school diploma or equivalentOne (1) year technical experience (electrical, etc.) and/or technical education.Willing to travel up to 30% of the time.Willing to support other project sites in the region.Willing to work nights during scheduled and unscheduled maintenance activitiesMust be able to work outdoors in inclement weatherAbility to climb / work safely from a portable step ladderAbility to understand directions, follow procedures, and complete tasks with minimal oversightEffective communication skills both written and verbalAbility to move and manipulate up to 45 kg (100 pounds).Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record.Eligible to work in the United States without the need for employer visa sponsorship now or in the future.
Preferred Education and/or Work Experience
Experience with PV maintenance, including DC systems, AC medium voltage systems, and network communications and monitoringExperience in an industrial environment dealing with machine repair and maintenance (Manufacturing, Automotive, Food Processing, Automation, Facilities) as a maintenance technician, electrician, electronic tech, field engineer or technician, service tech, etc.Experience with the operation of various SCADA systemsSkilled in the use of testing equipment and tools such as Thermographic Electrical Inspection, I-V Curve Tracing, Meggers, and Ground Fault DetectionStrong Analytical and Diagnostic capabilities to troubleshoot and correct problems foundKnowledge of National Electrical Code (NEC) and standard practicesAbility to read and understand electrical single-line and three-line diagrams / schematicsProficiency with MS Office suite

Base Pay
$29.49 - $49.97 USD Hourly
Bonus: 0% - 10%
The base pay range reflects the minimum and maximum target salary for the position. Invenergy considers a number of factors when determining base pay offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education and skills.
