Job Description
PurePoint Energy is seeking a Solar Service Technician in Norwalk, CT, to troubleshoot and repair residential and commercial solar systems. Ideal candidates are energetic, organized, and possess strong communication skills. A minimum of 2 years of hands-on solar service experience is required, along with a deep understanding of electrical theory. The role involves on-site work, system monitoring, and collaboration with team members and clients.

EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
Licensing: No E2/Journeyman license required, but must have a deep understanding of electrical theory and code.
Experience: Minimum of 2 years of hands-on solar service and troubleshooting experience. You must be an expert with string inverters, microinverters, and battery storage (e.g., Tesla, Enphase).
Leadership: Proven ability to explain complex concepts to both technicians and office staff.
Communication: Strong ability to provide "back-office" support, translating field realities into actionable advice for the Ops team.
NABCEP or Electrical License not required but would be a plus!
Travel necessary - must have a valid driver's license AND an acceptable motor vehicle report.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
Perform on site system troubleshooting and repair of residential and commercial PV and Energy Storage systems
Use PurePoint Energy’s monitoring systems to track system alerts and follow appropriate action in order to resolve any system problems
Fill out proper service reports and communicate/coordinate work with any supporting solar squad staff
Execute O&M annual inspections and send reports to the Solar Squad Manager
Work with manufacturer technical support in order to troubleshoot systems
Preform removal and replacements
Assist with Operations Team as needed - Be a team player
DAILY WORK Tasks Could Include:
Address questions and concerns over phone and email regarding system performance, maintenance, and production analysis
Work to troubleshoot / research existing system issues and monitoring issues remotely, in the office, and on site when needed
Complete and assist with certain system retrofit projects (such as snow guards, squirrel guards or inverter changes)
Communicate with clients in person and/or over the phone and email Communicate with our installer partners, sub contractors and equipment manufacturers to research and inquire about equipment issues / monitoring
Perform general equipment research related to equipment operations / performance
Communicate issues to our installation partner(s) and expected steps to solve the issue
Complete scheduled service calls with our installation partner(s) when needed and with customers
Assemble and submit paperwork required for RMA and any other warranty and reimbursement paperwork to Solar Squad Manager
Schedule delivery of equipment related to service call work
Execute O&M annual inspections and send reports to the Solar Squad Manager
Analyze a system’s performance when needed. Check on system performance via the various monitoring platforms
Deliver and maintain department metrics
