About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Domestic Solar Roofer to join our expanding renewable energy installation team. You will be responsible for the safe and efficient installation of roof‑mounted solar PV systems on domestic properties, working closely with electricians and PV installers to deliver high‑quality renewable installations.
Minimum Experience

At least 3 years’ experience working as a solar roofer or in a similar roofing role
Proven experience installing domestic solar PV mounting systems
Confident working at height on a variety of roof types (tile, slate, flat, etc.)
Experience using roof anchors, rail systems, and fixing methods for PV arrays

Required Qualifications (UK Standards)
While roofing roles do not require full electrical qualifications, the following certifications are essential or strongly preferred:

Working at Height Certification Demonstrates safe practice on roofs, ladders, scaffolding, and access equipment.
Roofing‑specific training or NVQ Level 2 in Roofing Occupations (preferred) Shows competence in domestic roofing systems and safe installation methods.
Manual Handling Training Required for safe lifting and handling of panels and mounting equipment.
Asbestos Awareness Certification Important for working safely on older domestic properties.
CSCS Card Required for most construction‑related work and site access.
Level 3 Solar PV Installation Qualification (desirable but not essential) Helpful for understanding system layout, mounting requirements, and coordination with electricians.

Key Responsibilities

Install roof‑mounted solar PV mounting systems to MCS and manufacturer standards
Work safely at height using appropriate PPE and fall‑arrest systems
Identify suitable fixing points and ensure structural integrity of the roof
Fit rails, brackets, flashings, and weatherproofing components
Assist with panel lifting, positioning, and securing
Work closely with electricians and PV installers during system installation
Maintain a clean, safe working environment on customer properties
Provide excellent customer service and represent the company professionally

Full UK driving licence
