Job Description
TotalEnergies is seeking a Site Civil Engineer (Solar) in the Democratic Republic of the Congo. The role involves managing civil engineering aspects of renewable energy projects, particularly solar, from development to construction. Key responsibilities include project management, ensuring compliance with technical specifications, supervising construction, and interfacing with various stakeholders. Candidates should have a BEng/BSc in Civil Engineering and relevant experience, particularly in renewable energy.
Contexte et environnement
This is a skilled civil engineering site based position responsible for the technical development and execution of renewable energy projects (with a focus on solar projects). It includes late stage development leading up to construction, review of contractor designs and monitoring of construction progress to ensure Contractor compliance with the Contract.
Key responsibilities:
• Responsible for the general day-to-day support and project management (civil engineering) of the relevant Projects.
• Providing civil engineering input and technical interface between the various work packages (finance, legal, technical, permitting, grid connection, etc.) necessary to fully execute the Projects.
• Ensuring technical compliance (civil engineering) with Project documents.
• Ensuring comprehensive and well drafted Employers Requirements/Specifications (and other contractual schedules) which are
well integrated with the relevant EPC and O&M agreements.
• Support during the procurement process of contractors to perform services under the relevant EPC and O&M agreements.
• Assist with interfacing with owner’s engineer (OE), sponsors legal advisors and lenders legal and technical advisors (LLA & LTA), contractors, Eskom/Grid Operator, Lenders, etc. during financial close process and construction.
• Construction supervision (civil engineering).
• Civil Engineering input in the project time schedule.
• Meeting tight deadlines and keeping within budget.
• Liaising with the TSIA Contractor, BOP Contractor, including subcontractors and design consultants.
• Prepare management presentations and generate periodic reports with the progress status of the company's projects.
• Such other duties that may be required from time to time within the general scope of the position.
• The role description should develop along with the changing demands of the projects’ objectives and priorities.

Profil du candidat
• BEng/BSc/BS (Civil Engineering)
• 2+ years’ experience (renewable energy experience would be an advantage).
• Awareness and understanding EPC and O&M agreements (Solar projects).
• Awareness and understanding of the relevant technical codes, regulations and standards relating to the development of renewable energy projects in South Arica.
• Experience of the application and understanding of the guidelines and specifications relevant to civil engineering in South Africa.
• Attention to detail required
• Requires an organised approach to working, task prioritisation and time management.
• Commercial mindset and experience with optimizing overall business from a technical design and execution perspective
• Awareness and understanding of the relevant technical codes, regulations and standards relating to the development of renewable energy projects.
• Take ownership of meeting deadlines and drive tasks to completion
• Strong initiative and the ability to proactively identify required tasks.
• Able to work independently and in groups
• Proficient in Microsoft Word, Powerpoint and Excel
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Interest in renewable energy projects
• Proficient in English
• Willingness to travel and spend time on site
• A valid Driver’s license
