Senior Urban Planner

VirtualVocations is hiring a Senior Urban Planner to lead projects focused on city and utility sustainability. The role involves managing planning initiatives, conducting regulatory analysis, and engaging with communities. Responsibilities include developing sustainability plans, analyzing data, ensuring zoning compliance, and facilitating public engagement. Candidates should have a relevant degree, 10+ years of experience in environmental planning, and preferably AICP certification.
Leading signature projects to enhance city and utility sustainability, the full-time Senior Urban Planner will manage comprehensive planning initiatives, conduct regulatory analysis, and engage with communities to deliver innovative urban solutions. Key responsibilities Develop and implement plans addressing sustainability, land use, and public infrastructure while considering community needs Conduct research and analyze data to inform planning decisions and ensure compliance with zoning laws and regulations Facilitate public engagement sessions and present findings to stakeholders, maintaining strong professional relationships Required qualifications Bachelor's or Master's degree in Urban Planning, Environmental Science, Geography, Public Administration, or a related field 10+ years of relevant experience in environmental planning or sustainability Certification by the American Institute of Certified Planners (AICP) is preferred Knowledge of zoning laws, land use regulations, and urban development processes Experience in community engagement and public consultation
