Olsson Associates Inc is seeking a Senior Transportation Engineer - Traffic/Technology in Des Moines, IA. The role involves leading QA/QC efforts, mentoring staff, and managing complex traffic engineering projects. Candidates should have a Bachelor's in Civil Engineering, 10+ years of experience, and a PE license. Job Description

Olsson's traffic experts provide clients with a single resource for such traditional services as traffic operations studies, pedestrian circulation studies, and intersection improvement/design projects. They are also proficient in more complex projects, including signal timing, identifying innovative solutions to signal system operations, and evaluating and designing Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS). As a Senior Engineer for the Traffic/Technology team, you will lead quality assurance/quality control (QA/QC) for the team and act as an advisor on complex projects. The Senior Traffic Engineer may provide project management when requested and mentor staff on the team. You may also have minimal travel to jobs sites for field observations.

Primary Responsibilities:
• Elevates the level of technical expertise within the team through technical design mentoring and training
• Leads the effort for putting together technical resources for the team and its projects
• May supervise/direct professionals and technical staff in the design approach to meet other project requirements
• Reviews contracts with support of administration
• Promotes efficiencies in producing quality work
• Maintains quality control and adequately checks plans

We have one current opening and will consider candidates interested in being located out of our Omaha, NE; Lincoln, NE; or Des Moines, IA office locations.

Qualifications

• Strong communication skills
• Ability to contribute and work well on a team
• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering
• 10+ years traffic engineering experience
• Professional Engineer (PE) License
