The Senior Manager, Energy Marketing at Diversified Gas & Oil Corporation is responsible for executing natural gas marketing activities in the Midcon Basin, managing relationships, negotiating agreements, and optimizing transportation. Responsibilities:

POSITION SUMMARY & RESPONSIBILITIES:





The Senior Manager, Energy Marketing is responsible for supporting and executing natural gas marketing activities across the Midcon Basin, including transaction execution, transportation optimization, commercial negotiations, position management, scheduling & scheduling oversight, market analysis, and counterparty relationship management. This role owns and supports the commercial lifecycle from market strategy and deal execution through scheduling, settlement, and financial performance. Depending on candidate experience and organizational needs, the position may operate as an individual contributor or evolve into a leadership role with responsibility for commercial personnel and marketing strategy. The role requires strong commercial instincts, analytical capability, market awareness, relationship management skills, and a willingness to work across front-, middle-, and back-office commercial functions.





Gas Marketing & Commercial Execution


Market natural gas production across Midcon supply basins.
Manage Midstream relationships.
Negotiate and administer gas purchase, transportation, gathering, processing, and sales agreements.
Evaluate commercial opportunities to maximize realized pricing and asset value.
Support acquisition evaluations and commercial integration activities.





Position Management & Market Optimization


Monitor daily and monthly gas positions.
Manage transportation capacity utilization and optimization opportunities.
Identify basis, transportation, and market arbitrage opportunities.
Support hedging, risk management, and market analysis activities.
Develop strategies to maximize netback values and commercial profitability.





Scheduling & Operational Coordination


Partner closely with scheduling and operations teams to ensure successful transaction execution.
Resolve pipeline, nomination, imbalance, and operational issues.
Maintain awareness of operational constraints impacting commercial performance.
Coordinate commercial activities across gathering, processing, transportation, and sales functions.





Commercial Lifecycle Management


Ensure transactions flow accurately from contract execution through settlement.
Partner with accounting and settlements teams to resolve pricing, invoicing, and payment issues.
Monitor contract compliance and commercial performance.
Support monthly close and financial reporting requirements related to marketing activities.





Commercial Development


Develop new Counterparty relationships.
Manage Midstream agreements
Identify optimization opportunities to improve netback pricing
Represent the company in commercial negotiations and industry settings.





Technical, Data & AI Aptitude


Candidates who possess strong technical, systems, automation, or AI capabilities may be considered favorably, even if they have less direct natural gas marketing experience.
Ability to leverage data to improve commercial decision-making and business performance.
Experience designing, automating, or improving business processes through technology.
Experience working with SQL, Python, APIs, Power BI, Tableau, Grafana, or similar tools.
Qualifications:




POSITION REQUIREMENTS:


Experience in energy, commodities, or commercial roles
Foundational understanding of:



Natural Gas marketing
Pricing structures and market fundamentals




Demonstrated ability to:

Analyze data and market conditions to support commercial decisions
Manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, operational environment
Strong communication skills with the ability to work cross-functionally across:

Operations, Accounting, Midstream partners, and external counterparties
Ability to take ownership of responsibilities and follow through on execution





Preferred Qualifications:


Direct experience in natural gas marketing or commercial operations





Demonstrated commercial acumen, including the ability to:


Evaluate pricing, netbacks, and economic trade-offs
Identify and act on opportunities to improve realized margins
Experience negotiating or supporting negotiation of:
Sales agreements
Transportation or midstream contracts
Proven ability to build and maintain commercial relationships that drive outcomes, including improved terms, pricing, or operational solutions





Familiarity with:


Midstream systems, pipelines, and plant operations
Nominations, scheduling coordination, and flow assurance
Experience with ETRM systems (e.g., FIS Aligne) and commercial data workflows





Strong systems and process mindset, with interest in:


Improving workflows
Leveraging data and automation
Applying emerging tools (including AI where applicable) to enhance performance





Experience supporting asset optimization efforts, including:


Transportation decisions
NGL recovery/rejection considerations
Liquids handling or disposition strategies





Office Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:


Prolonged periods working at a desk in front of a computer.





Additional Requirements:


Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at a time.
