Senior Learning Design Professional

Humana Inc. is seeking a Senior Learning Design Professional to assess learning needs and design effective training solutions using instructional design principles. Responsibilities include analyzing performance gaps, creating course materials, and measuring training effectiveness. Candidates should have a bachelor's degree, 5 years of experience in learning design, and a passion for improving consumer experiences. This is a full-time remote position.
DescriptionThe Senior Learning Design Professional uses instructional design, cognitive psychology and adult learning theory to determine the appropriate solution to a knowledge or performance gap. The Senior Learning Design Professional work assignments involve moderately complex to complex issues where the analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth evaluation of variable factors.ResponsibilitiesThe Senior Learning Design Professional assesses and analyzes need, researches and organizes content, and designs learning solutions, including creating storyboards, scripts, performance support, computer-based learning and other materials. This role:Analyzes learning needs and partners with subject matter experts to provide input for course content.Writes effective learning objectives and coordinates performance assessments to measure training effectiveness.Ensures course materials are current and relevant to training needs.Tracks and analyzes the training programs effectiveness by examining learner's satisfaction levels, proficiency testing, and job performance improvement.Provides instruction and guidance to Facilitators. Knows how to use social media and collaborative tools to facilitate learning.Plans, organizes, and develops training curriculum, materials, job performance aids and programs to meet specific training needs.Uses consultative skills to commit projects and conduct needs analysis with clients to determine whether learning solutions are necessary or relevant.Begins to influence department's strategy.Makes decisions on moderately complex to complex issues regarding technical approach for project components, and work is performed without direction.Exercises considerable latitude in determining objectives and approaches to assignments.Required QualificationsBachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience5 years of technical learning design experiencePrior experience working in a consumer centric company in the learning function or related functionPrior demonstrated capability being part of a dynamic and high performing team culture.Progressive business and financial analytics experience with a focus on learning strategies and adult learning theoriesMust be passionate about contributing to an organization focused on continuously improving consumer experiencesPreferred QualificationsDegree in one of the following areas: Business Administration; Learning and Performance; Education; Human Resources, Organizational Design or Related field.Work experience in a health care and / or Insurance settingAdditional InformationThis is a remote position.#LI-RemoteScheduled Weekly Hours40Humana complies with all applicable federal civil rights laws and does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, national origin, age, disability, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity or religion.
