Senior Investment Associate - Renewable Energy
Location: Nairobi, Kenya (Hybrid options available)
Start Date: July 2025 (or earlier if available)
Compensation: $2,000-$2,500 gross/month (commensurate with experience)
The Opportunity
We are representing a leading renewable energy developer that is scaling clean energy solutions across Africa. They are seeking a Senior Investment Associate to join their growing team in Nairobi.
This is a high-impact role for a finance professional who can take ownership of structuring and executing financing transactions for energy infrastructure projects. If you have a background in project finance or investment banking and are passionate about sustainability, this is a unique opportunity to make a real difference.
Key Responsibilities
• Build and manage financial models for infrastructure and project finance transactions
• Lead the execution of debt transactions, including term sheet negotiations and investment memos
• Coordinate with lenders, advisors, investors, and internal teams to manage deal processes
• Conduct financial due diligence and scenario analysis to support strategic decisions
• Present clear, data-driven recommendations to senior leadership
Candidate Profile
• 4-6+ years of experience in investment banking, project finance, private equity, or a similar environment
• Demonstrated experience leading debt financing transactions, ideally in energy or infrastructure
• Strong financial modelling skills with advanced Excel proficiency
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Independent, detail-oriented, and comfortable working in a fast-paced setting
• Deep interest in renewable energy and sustainable development in Africa
