The Senior Graphic Designer (Environmental) at The Ohio State University is a pivotal role within the Health System Shared Services department, specifically in Space Planning. This position is responsible for developing, producing, and managing a variety of design projects that align with the goals and objectives of the OSU Medical Center. The designer will collaborate closely with interior design planning, environmental graphics, wayfinding, and marketing communications teams to ensure that all projects meet the established timelines, execution standards, and budgetary constraints while adhering to the organization's brand and design standards. The role encompasses a wide range of responsibilities, including the creation of interior wall graphics and installations, donor walls, digital content for environments, photo art direction, presentations, and signage. The Senior Graphic Designer is expected to bring innovative ideas to the design and content creation teams, enhancing efficiency and reinforcing brand identity. Working under tight deadlines, the designer will produce materials based on an approved production calendar, with specific direction and goal setting provided by the supervisor. In addition to design responsibilities, the Senior Graphic Designer will coordinate the production of various materials, including printing, photography, digital templates, and illustrations. This role requires collaboration with key stakeholders to ensure adherence to brand standards and the delivery of high-quality environmental graphic design solutions. The designer will also maintain organized photo and project files, stay updated with the latest software and hardware, and manage project billing and budgeting. Overall, this position plays a crucial role in enforcing brand guidelines and fostering a collaborative environment within the university.
Responsibilities
• Design print and digital materials for OSU Wexner Medical Center interior environments coinciding with new construction projects and renovations.

• Produce and present high-quality creative concepts, graphic design layouts, pre-press work, and technical specifications necessary to complete projects.

• Coordinate the production of printing, photography, digital templates, illustrations, and other services as needed.
,
• Create designs and images for digital installations within interior environments that support the WMC Brand message and donor-related content.
,
• Collaborate with and advise interior design, wayfinding and signage, marketing and communication colleagues, development, and other key stakeholders on brand standards and quality environmental graphic design solutions.

• Maintain photo files and design project files on a central server.
,
• Stay current with computer software and hardware.
,
• Monitor billing and budgeting for projects.
,
• Work with vendors, installers, fabricators, freelance photographers, and collaborate with other creative services as needed.
,
• Enforce brand and environmental brand guidelines and standards on all projects.
Requirements
• Bachelor's degree in graphic or visual communication design, interior design, industrial design, architecture, or similar.

• Minimum of 5 years working experience, or equivalent education and experience.
