The NJ Department of Environmental Protection is hiring a Senior Environmental Scientist in Trenton, NJ. Job Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Environmental Scientist to join our team at the NJ Department of Environmental Protection. In this role, you will be responsible for determining current analytical capability of laboratories to measure various contaminants for the development and setting of standards in various media.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in environmental science and a deep understanding of state and federal regulations. They will also have experience designing environmental studies, interpreting data, performing statistical analyses, preparing reports on the results, reviewing environmental reports, and analyzing pre-existing databases.
Key Responsibilities:
• Determine current analytical capability of laboratories
• Provide technical support to ground water, surface water, and drinking water rule proposal programs
• Manage research projects related to Division needs
• Makes qualitative evaluations related to the generation, collection, review and use of analytical data
Requirements:
• Master of Science degree in Chemistry or other appropriate physical or environmental science discipline
• Three years of experience in chemical analysis or research
• Strong background in environmental science and a deep understanding of state and federal regulations
• Experience designing environmental studies, interpreting data, performing statistical analyses, preparing reports on the results, reviewing environmental reports, and analyzing pre-existing databases
