Job Responsibilities:
As a Senior Environmental Project Manager, you will oversee environmental programs for some of the Puget Sound region's most exciting and high-profile transportation and habitat restoration projects. Your responsibilities will include shaping design, leading environmental permitting, ensuring compliance during construction, and meeting project-specific internal financial goals. You will play a key role in coordinating with stakeholders to mitigate environmental impacts while also providing mentorship and management to staff members to ensure project success. Your expertise in critical area permitting, NEPA/SEPA development, and stormwater compliance will be essential in guiding the project towards environmentally responsible outcomes.
Minimum Requirements:
Bachelor's or Master's degree in environmental science, environmental engineering, or a related field.
Minimum of 10 years of environmental management experience, focusing on environmental compliance, heavy civil projects, NEPA/SEPA development, environmental permitting, wetland delineation, and hazardous material compliance.
At least 3 years of specific experience in transportation projects in the Pacific Northwest within the 10-year period.
Strong knowledge of local, state, and federal environmental regulations and permitting processes.
Exceptional project management skills, capable of handling multiple projects simultaneously.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective stakeholder and regulatory agency interactions.
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with a focus on innovative and sustainable solutions.
Technical Requirements:
Proficiency in technical writing, demonstrated through the ability to prepare comprehensive reports and documentation.
Strong problem-solving abilities with a focus on finding innovative and sustainable solutions to environmental challenges.
Professional certifications such as Professional Wetland Scientist (PWS), WSDOT Senior BA Author, Landscape Architect (PLA), Licensed Geologist (LG), or Certified Professional in Erosion and Sediment Control (CPESC) are highly desirable.
Other Qualities:
Ability to travel occasionally up to one week at a time to the Olympic Peninsula.
Able to work in inclement weather and difficult terrain.
Compensation:
$125K - $150K Annual Salary
The expected salary range for the position is displayed in accordance with the state's law. Final agreed upon compensation is based upon individual qualifications and experience.
