Job Responsibilities Include But Are Not Limited To
We’re looking for a motivated and detail-oriented individual to support our fisheries team and lead fish exclusion efforts. In this role, you’ll work closely with, and mentor, our staff scientists to successfully relocate fish on several projects.
Your efforts will help our company with the multiple stream passage project we are currently supporting.

Minimum Requirements
• Bachelor of Science in Environmental Science, Biology, Ecology, Botany, Geology, Engineering, or a related field.
• Five (5) to ten (10) years of professional experience or graduate school.
• Education or practical experience in fish exclusion/salmonid identification.
• Ability to lead a crew responsible for the overall fish exclusion effort on several projects during the summer in-water work window.
• Ability to work outdoors during inclement weather and on uneven ground, demonstrating a hands-on approach to environmental fieldwork.
• Demonstrate a strong aptitude for leadership, planning and fieldwork, with the core responsibilities involving hands-on environmental assessments and monitoring activities.
• Be comfortable navigating a construction site on days that may be cold and rainy or sunny and hot.
Technical Requirements
• Lead the fish exclusion effort on multiple projects during the 2025 in-water work window and supervise crew that conducts exclusion efforts. Responsible for data collection, quality control, and delivery according to permit requirements.
• Author and communicate required fish exclusion plans in coordination with Contractor and Owner teams, plan fish exclusion methodology using available resources and site assessments and maintain fish exclusion areas in compliance with applicable permit requirements.
• -Participate and lead seining and electrofishing, as well as fish monitoring and surveying activities to support in-water work as a Lead Biologist.
• Provide analysis in final written reports.
• Conduct pre-construction training for all persons who will be helping with fish exclusion.
• Assist in planning the design for the exclusion effort during the in-water work window.
• Successful candidates will thrive as integral members of a multidisciplinary team dedicated to environmental compliance, documentation, permitting, and construction monitoring.
• Oversee comprehensive technical daily reports and ensuring construction compliance, contributing to the success of pivotal projects.
• Showcase proficiency in creating figures, charts, and tables using tools such as MS Excel, Bluebeam, GIS, and other relevant platforms, enhancing the clarity and impact of technical information.
• Required: Experience in fish exclusion
• While not mandatory, prior experience in managing people and budgets is a significant asset, demonstrating the ability to lead and efficiently allocate resources.
Other Miscellaneous Qualities
• Demonstrate adeptness in utilizing various field equipment (Electrofisher, pH, turbidimeter, GPS) showcasing hands-on proficiency in collecting accurate and reliable data.
• Be able to work independently while also thriving within collaborative team environments
• Positive, flexible team-oriented approach
• Bring a meticulous eye for detail to the table, demonstrating resourcefulness in problem-solving and contributing to the precision required for successful project outcomes.
• Hold a valid driver's license, as this role may involve travel to various locations, reflecting your commitment to mobility and accessibility for project requirements.
• Be willing to travel and work remotely during the fish exclusion window and for on-call fish monitoring and exclusion.
Compensation
$37 - $40 hourly
The expected salary range for the position is displayed in accordance with the state’s law. Final agreed upon compensation is based upon individual qualifications and experience.
