Roles and Responsibilities
We are seeking an Electronics Technician that will work in a small manufacturing group that builds transmitters and equipment for fisheries research. The qualified applicant will need to work independently based on information received from Sales and their manager and be self-motivated and resourceful, able to carry out duties with little supervision. This person will need to have a deep base of knowledge around electronics and should have strong problem-solving skills and be capable of finding the most efficient solution to an issue with minimal guidance.
Key Responsibilities
• Diagnose, repair, install, assemble, and maintain electronics components and systems
• Observational skills to notice potential problems during service checks
• Demonstrated proficiency at interpreting schematics and diagrams
• Written communication skills to keep accurate, easy-to-understand documentation
• Draft assembly documentation to explain electronics systems assembly to other personnel
• Use a variety of tools and techniques to perform work on electrical systems
• Ability to operate tools such as multimeters, soldering stations, precision screwdrivers, rotary tools and printers, and to distinguish between various colors of wiring
• Partner with electronics engineers and assemblers to optimize efficiency
• Interpret technical blueprints and schematics
• Attending regular meetings and training sessions to maintain your mastery of electronics
• Interpersonal and oral communication skills to interact, collaborate and provide instruction
• Deep familiarity with circuitry, wiring and splicing
• Trouble shoot and repair products with problems
• Working knowledge of health and safety standards
What We’re Looking For
• Prior experience (7+ years) as an electronics technician and assembler
• Strong organizational and prioritization skills
• Strong computer and data entry skills
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• High School Diploma OR General Education Development (GED) and Technical electronics degree (2 years)
• Experience with basic business software and using a computer for order processing and inventory control
• Customer service experience
Compensation
Pay range for this position is $52,000 - $95,000.
