Job Overview

A nationally recognized law firm is actively seeking a Senior Associate to join its Corporate and Private Equity practice group. This position offers a unique opportunity to work within a highly ranked legal team handling a diverse portfolio of private equity transactions. The role is suited for experienced attorneys who are looking to elevate their careers within a dynamic and supportive environment that values leadership, legal expertise, and client-focused service.
Location
• Chicago, IL

Duties
• Handle a broad range of private equity transactions, including:
• Leveraged buyouts
• Minority and junior capital investments
• Roll-ups
• Independent sponsor transactions
• “Going private” deals
• Distressed acquisitions in and out of bankruptcy
• Represent both emerging and established fund managers and investors in the formation of:
• Private equity
• Growth equity
• Venture capital
• Mezzanine
• Real estate funds
• Serve as lead associate on transactions, including drafting, negotiating, and managing deal execution
• Work independently with clients and collaborate with internal legal teams
• Contribute to the growth of a nationally recognized private equity platform

Requirements
• 5 to 7 years of legal experience focused on acquisitions and private equity fund transactions
• Proven ability to manage and lead deal processes from start to finish
• Licensed and in good standing with the Texas State Bar
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
• Commitment to excellence in client service and legal practice

Education
• Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school

Certifications
• Active membership in the Texas State Bar

Skills
• Advanced knowledge of corporate and transactional law
• Excellent drafting, negotiation, and communication skills
• Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to interact directly with clients
• High attention to detail and strong organizational skills
• Ability to manage multiple transactions and competing deadlines
