Senior Climate & Environment Expert

NTU International A/S is seeking a Senior Climate & Environment Expert for a project in Lesotho, focusing on climate resilience and environmental sustainability. The role involves conducting climate risk assessments, supporting EU interventions, and monitoring project performance. Candidates should have at least 10 years of relevant experience. This position is part-time and based in Pretoria, South Africa, with mobilization expected to start in January 2027.
NTU International is preparing a proposal for the project “Cooperation Facility to Support the Implementation and Programming of EU Action and Team Europe Initiatives in Lesotho.”

In this context, NTU International is establishing a pool of qualified Non-Key Experts (Senior and Junior) to be mobilised on a short-term, on-demand basis during project implementation (48 months, expected start January 2027). Mobilisation will be subject to specific Terms of Reference and approval by the EU Delegation to the Lesotho.

Responsibilities

Provide expertise on climate resilience, biodiversity and environmental sustainability.Conduct climate risk assessments and environmental analyses.Support mainstreaming of climate considerations across EU interventions.Monitor environmental performance of projects.


Required Experience

Minimum 10 years of experience in climate adaptation, environmental management and biodiversity.
