Our client is seeking a talented and innovative Senior Architectural Designer with a passion for sustainable design to join their vibrant studio in Indianapolis, Indiana, US . This role is integral to developing cutting-edge architectural concepts and translating them into buildable designs, with a strong emphasis on environmentally conscious practices. You will lead design projects from conceptualization through construction documentation, collaborating closely with clients, consultants, and construction teams. The ideal candidate will possess a strong portfolio showcasing design excellence, a deep understanding of sustainable building principles, and proficiency in modern architectural software. Responsibilities include:
Leading the design development process for diverse architectural projects, from schematic design to construction documentation. Developing innovative and sustainable design solutions that meet client needs and regulatory requirements. Creating detailed architectural drawings, models, and visualizations using industry-standard software. Coordinating with structural, MEP, and other engineering consultants to ensure integrated design solutions. Ensuring all designs comply with building codes, zoning regulations, and sustainable building standards (e.g., LEED). Conducting site analyses and feasibility studies. Preparing design presentations and reports for clients and stakeholders. Mentoring junior designers and contributing to a collaborative studio environment. Researching and implementing new sustainable design strategies and materials. Overseeing the quality control of architectural documents during all project phases.
Qualifications:
Master's degree in Architecture or a related field. Minimum of 7 years of professional experience in architectural design, with a focus on high-quality projects. Demonstrated expertise in sustainable design principles and certification systems (e.g., LEED AP). Proficiency in architectural design software such as Revit, AutoCAD, SketchUp, and Adobe Creative Suite. Strong portfolio showcasing a range of design styles and project types. Excellent visual, graphic, and verbal communication skills. Proven ability to lead design initiatives and collaborate effectively within a team. Knowledge of building codes and construction methods. Experience with project management is a plus.
