Insight Global is hiring a Renewables Technician for solar and battery storage sites in North and South Carolina. This hands-on role involves supporting operations, troubleshooting electrical systems, and mentoring junior technicians. Candidates must have strong electrical experience and be willing to travel between multiple sites, with an on-call rotation required. Local candidates or those willing to relocate are preferred. Salary ranges from $60K to $90K annually.
Must be local or willing to relocate - no per diem!Multiple locations available in North and South CarolinaInsight Global is hiring an experienced Renewables Technician to support solar and battery storage sites across the Carolinas. This is a hands‑on, field-based role supporting both ongoing operations and new site startups - ideal for someone who knows their way around electrical systems and enjoys working across multiple sites. You’ll play a key role in keeping critical renewable energy infrastructure running safely and efficiently, while also helping mentor junior techs on the team.

What You’ll Be DoingSupport daily operations across solar and battery storage sites (multiple locations)Troubleshoot and maintain inverters, SCADA systems, battery systems, and electrical equipmentPerform preventative maintenance and respond to equipment issues in the fieldExecute and lead Lock‑Out Tag‑Out (LOTO) proceduresOversee contractors and ensure work is completed safely and correctlySupport commissioning and startup of new sites (walkdowns, punch lists, procedures, etc.)Communicate site status and updates with operations centersMaintain accurate documentation and service reportsParticipate in an on‑call rotationRequired QualificationsStrong experience with electrical systems (AC/DC troubleshooting required)Background in solar, battery storage, or power generationAbility to read and interpret electrical drawings and schematicsExperience with inverters, SCADA systems, or high voltage equipmentHands‑on troubleshooting mindset - someone who can solve problems in the fieldComfortable working independently and traveling between sitesNice to HavesExperience with PV systems or battery storageKnowledge of fiber optic networks, HVAC systems, or power distributionFamiliarity with Maximo or other CMMS toolsPrevious experience supporting site commissioning/startupTravel: 50%+ regional travel across the Carolinas (multiple site visits)On‑call rotation requiredMust live within driving distance of assigned sites
