Job Description

Burns & McDonnell is seeking a Renewable Energy Portfolio Manager in Phoenix, AZ. The role involves developing client relationships, identifying sales opportunities, managing proposals, and ensuring project quality. Candidates should have a relevant bachelor's degree, with a master's preferred, and at least 5 years of experience in engineering or consulting projects. Strong knowledge of power supply planning and the ability to lead teams is essential.
Role Summary
The Renewable Energy Portfolio Manager will play a key role in developing and managing client relationships and identifying new sales opportunities. This involves analyzing various options for new generation facility construction, retirements, retrofits, or conversions, as well as power purchase decisions.

Key Accountabilities:
- Develop and manage client relationships through effective marketing and project interactions.
- Identify new sales opportunities with clients and lead all aspects of proposal development and submission.
- Establish critical project objectives and performances with clients and lead contract preparation and negotiations.
- Analyze and communicate project status, risks, schedule, and costs to stakeholders and ensure quality control of deliverables.

Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, economics, computer science, data science, or similar field from an ABET accredited program.
- Master's degree preferred.
- Minimum 5 years of related experience, including 3 or more years managing engineering or consulting projects.
- Strong knowledge of power supply planning software and extensive knowledge of electric power options, including generation facility types, capital costs, operating costs, typical dispatch profiles, and general power system operations.
- Ability to lead, educate, and train a team of engineers and analysts in regard to power supply planning studies and proven ability to lead multi-discipline teams.
