Job Description

The Agricultural Research Council is offering a one-year internship in Renewable Energy in Gauteng, South Africa. Interns will assist in project management, data capturing, technical reporting, and ensuring compliance with safety protocols. Candidates should have a relevant BSc or BTech degree and a strong interest in renewable energy. The position is part-time and requires participation in site visitations and meetings.
Participate in the National Department of Agriculture Funded Project
Together with the Project Manager, contribute towards projects, by compiling and executing project’s technical activity plans.
Participate in site visitations, data capturing and adhere to proper data quality control protocols.
Prepare specifications for required technologies including biomass, bioenergy and other alternative energy systems.
Assist in compiling and managing project purchases.
Compile detailed technical reports and submit for review and approval.
Utilise and maintain facilities, apparatus and equipment.
Participate in sectional meetings, seminars and workshops.
Ensures compliance with OHS and Safety Procedures.





Relevant BSc or BTech Degree in Biotechnology, Microbiology, Energy studies or Engineering qualification (with intent to pursue further studies, i.e. Hons or Master’s).
Strong interest in renewable energy and sustainable technologies.
Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
A valid driver’s license will be an added advantage.

A competitive remuneration package will be congruent with the scope, responsibilities and the stature of the position. The appointment will be subject to a positive security clearance (as well as competency and leadership assessments).
