Job Description
The Outreach Team is hiring a Rapid Response Organizer for the Climate Action Campaign in Raleigh, NC, from August 4th to September 8th. The role involves grassroots organizing, volunteer recruitment, event management, and digital engagement to mobilize community action for climate solutions. Candidates should excel in relationship building and community engagement. This position requires in-person activities and is not remote.
Role: Rapid Response Organizer, Climate Action Campaign
Timeline: We are hiring an organizer for this position beginning August 4th, lasting through September 8th.

General Overview: The Rapid Response Organizer will work in close coordination with the Climate Action Campaign’s national campaigns team to build grassroots power in their congressional district. Organizers will execute a rigorous campaign plan that integrates volunteer recruitment, petitioning, rapid response event organizing, coalition building, and digital engagement – all aimed at mobilizing constituents to take action to defend and protect climate solutions. Organizers will be expected to lead from the front by canvassing themselves, moving volunteers through the leadership pipeline, and hitting the ground running.
What You'll Do
Recruit and Train a Community of Supporters and Volunteers
Call and text supporters and recruit them into grassroots actions.
Run grassroots skills trainings to develop effective campaigners among volunteers.
Keep meticulous track of a volunteer list so that no potential volunteer falls through the cracks.
Hold regularly scheduled petitioning canvasses to identify supporters and immediately follow up with potential volunteers identified in the community.
Represent the campaign through participation in community spaces and events, while engaging and uplifting coalition and partner organizations.
Organize High-Volume Visibility Events
You will be expected to organize and execute exciting, high-visibility in-person events demonstrating support for climate, jobs, and justice
You'll educate community members about historical climate investments and the urgency of continued actions
You must nail 100% of all messaging and legal requirements and ensure that volunteers do the same
Drive Campaign Actions
Represent the campaign through participation in community spaces and events, while engaging and uplifting coalition and partner organizations.
Engage with the public to drive yard sign requests and calls to MOCs to increase visibility for our campaign and public appetite for prioritizing climate
Manage Digital Campaign, Data Management, and Reporting Tools
Demonstrate public support by recruiting volunteers to post on their own social media platforms, including Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter.
Use peer-to-peer texting services and relational organizing tools to communicate with community members.
Send timely and compelling email campaigns to recruit activists to campaign activities.
Track every interaction with detailed notes in order to report numbers daily and write weekly reports on the results of the campaign.
