Job Description
Green Infrastructure Partners is seeking a Quality Control Technician in Kitchener, ON, responsible for field inspection and testing of materials like asphalt and concrete. The role includes maintaining testing equipment, conducting geotechnical investigations, and completing reports. Candidates should have problem-solving skills and a valid G driver's license. Experience in construction or material testing is an asset. The position requires shift work and the ability to lift heavy materials.
• Primary Scope of Role:
• Field inspection and testing of asphalt, aggregates, soils, and concrete.
• Field testing to include sampling, coring, and compaction of various materials.
• Assist in proper care, control, and maintenance of testing equipment.
• Follow all company and regulatory safety policies and procedures.
• Assist when required with Geotechnical investigations.
• Complete reports and checklists as per company policies and/or contract requirements and advise supervisors of any non-conformances and deviations.
• Assist with Laboratory testing of materials when required.
• Perform other duties as instructed.
• Position Requirements:
• Post-secondary education in a 2- or 3-year college program such as Civil / Construction Engineering or equivalent program is an asset but not required.
• CCIL concrete certification is an asset but not required.
• Prior construction or material testing experience is an asset but not required.
• Strong problem-solving skills with excellent oral and written communication.
• Able to use and maintain hand and power tools.
• Must have a valid G driver's license and clean driver's abstract.
• Able to perform heavy lifting >25kg.
• Able to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Must be able to perform shiftwork, including nights and weekends.
• Must be able to work long shifts and extended hours.
