Triumph Consultants Ltd is hiring a part-time Senior Environmental Health Officer (Pollution Control) in March, UK, for a temporary role of 1-3 days a week. The position requires a UK-based candidate with relevant qualifications and experience in pollution control and environmental health. Skills & Experience:
• Post Graduate qualification in noise control or pollution control
• Member of Charter Institute of Environmental Health
• Knowledge of:
• Environmental Protection Act: LAPC, Statutory nuisance
• Air quality review and assessment procedures
• National Air Quality Strategy, relevant statutory guidance
• Experience of atmospheric pollution/statutory nuisance enforcement.
• Experience in enforcement of relevant statutory requirements
• Report writing to a corporate level
• Preparation of technical reports following process inspections
• Competent in using Microsoft packages e.g Word, Excel etc

What's involved with this role: You will lead and oversee pollution control, animal welfare, pest control, and the Dog Warden service, ensuring compliance with statutory requirements. You will manage a team, deliver essential services, and drive performance within the section.

Key duties:
• Lead Local Authority Pollution Prevention and Control, ensuring regular permit reviews and a comprehensive inspection program, while supporting process operators to achieve BATNEEC compliance.
• Contribute to Local Air Quality Management, ensuring timely progress reports in line with statutory guidance and deadlines.
• Lead the discharge of duties under the Environmental Protection Act 1990 and Public Health Acts, including managing statutory nuisance and private sector drainage.
• Lead enforcement procedures, issuing statutory notices and preparing legal cases according to current enforcement policies.
• Supervise the Council's licensing of animal welfare establishments.
• Supervise the management of stray and dangerous dogs, including dog warden and kenneling services.
• Oversee the Council’s Pest Control contractor.
