Job Description

NEW Community Clinic LTD is seeking an experienced Psychiatric Prescriber in Green Bay, WI, to provide comprehensive mental healthcare to underserved populations. We are seeking an experienced and empathetic Psychiatric Prescriber to join our enthusiastic team.

Essential Functions of the Job:
• Conduct initial psychiatric evaluations (including mental status and pharmacological components).
• Prescribe medications, teach clients about side effects, and monitor response to prescribe medications, while monitoring the effects and making necessary adjustments as needed.
• Develop treatment plans according to the needs of the patient with the evaluation of emotional, social, cognitive, developmental, or behavioral disorder.
• Consult with the patient's Primary Care Physician, Nurse, or other health care providers.
• Maintain clinical records, including the type of treatment and medication administered.
• Provide clinical supervision to staff on the type and nature of ongoing patient needs.
• Provide treatment services that is collaborative with the individual.
• Participate in N.E.W Community Clinic education and health programs.
• Adhere to and practice within the scope of their license and training.
• Follow ethical and legal policies, procedures, and standards.
• Complete all ongoing record keeping per Wisconsin Administrative Code and clinic requirements.

Qualifications and Education Requirements
• Education: Doctor of Medicine or an equivalent degree and completion of an ACGME accredited psychiatry residency program meeting requirement for Wisconsin licensure. Board Certification by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology is preferred Or Master's degree or higher from an accredited Nurse Practitioner Education Program and board certified by the ANCC in Psychiatry Mental Health.
• Experience: Licensed or eligible for licensure as an Advanced Practice Nurse Prescriber in the State of Wisconsin. Experience in provision of an eclectic problem-solving approach to clients seeking pharmacological support and problem resolution. Familiarity with a range of issues such as poverty, community, family violence, HIV, human sexuality, AODA, criminal justice systems, chronic or terminal illness and pain, and parenting skills, are desirable. Experience with current EPIC EMR a plus.
• Expertise: Ability to provide culturally competent services to a variety of clients in a direct, responsive manner. Willingness to confront traditional barriers related to various mental health diagnoses. Strong interactive "team" skills within both a behavioral health and a primary medical care setting. Excellent interpersonal skills and empathy toward patients. Must be able to adapt to changing situations and circumstances.
• Language: Comprehend and use basic language either written or spoken to communicate information and ideals. Fluent in the Spanish language desirable.
