About the position

The Environmental Siting & Routing Project Manager at Burns & McDonnell is responsible for managing and developing business for transmission line routing studies, environmental surveys, NEPA analysis, and land use planning/permitting services. This role offers the opportunity to grow professionally within a leading engineering and environmental firm, focusing on executing environmental projects and serving as a technical lead on various studies and analyses.

Responsibilities
• Manage and lead tasks for small and large-scale environmental projects.

• Prepare routing studies and evaluations for CCN applications for approval by the Texas PUC.
,
• Conduct environmental studies, impact analysis, and NEPA documentation for diverse projects.
,
• Interact with county and local staff, prepare and submit land use permits, and manage public outreach efforts.
,
• Demonstrate competence in technical report writing related to NEPA compliance and regulatory permitting documents.
,
• Collaborate with clients, resource agencies, and technical staff to prepare environmental documents and studies.
,
• Develop and strengthen client relationships.
,
• Mentor and manage junior staff.

Requirements
• B.S. or M.S. in Environmental Science, Planning, Natural Resource Management, or related field.

• Minimum 7 years of related consulting experience in project management and business development.

• Demonstrated experience supporting and acquiring CCN certificates for electric transmission line projects.

• Familiarity with Texas resources and regulatory agencies, with local knowledge preferred.

• Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.

• Strong time management and multitasking abilities under tight deadlines.

• Analytical and problem-solving skills.

Nice-to-haves
• Experience with high-voltage transmission lines, renewables, and power generation projects.
