Insight Global is hiring a Program Manager for the wind industry to oversee field operations and support for wind turbine technicians across various renewable energy sites. The role requires extensive experience in wind energy operations, technician management, and safety compliance. Key responsibilities include managing technician scheduling, site readiness, and operational KPIs, while fostering relationships with stakeholders. Overview
We are seeking a proven wind industry leader to oversee field operations and infrastructure support for wind turbine technicians across multiple wind farms and renewable energy sites. This role is ideal for someone who has spent their career in wind energy operations and understands the day-to-day challenges of maintaining turbine fleets, supporting traveling technician crews, and ensuring safe, efficient execution of field activities. The Program Manager will serve as the bridge between field operations, technician teams, client stakeholders, and internal support functions. Success in this role requires deep knowledge of wind turbine operations, technician deployment, site logistics, safety compliance, and workforce management within a fast-paced renewable energy environment.
Key Responsibilities
Lead operational support programs for wind turbine technicians across multiple wind projects and customer sitesManage and develop teams responsible for technician scheduling, travel coordination, site readiness, and workforce deploymentPartner closely with Site Managers, Lead Technicians, and Field Service teams to ensure efficient turbine maintenance and service executionOversee technician mobilization, certifications, training compliance, PPE management, tooling requirements, and field logisticsServe as the primary escalation point for turbine service issues, operational constraints, workforce challenges, and customer concernsDrive workforce planning initiatives to ensure proper technician coverage during outages, scheduled maintenance campaigns, commissioning projects, and major component exchangesTrack operational KPIs including technician utilization, safety performance, mobilization timelines, project completion metrics, and customer satisfactionEstablish and improve operational processes that enhance technician efficiency, site support, and service delivery performanceBuild strong relationships with wind farm operators, OEM partners, EPC organizations, and internal stakeholdersSupport continuous improvement initiatives focused on turbine uptime, operational excellence, and field service scalability
Required Qualifications
7+ years of experience within the wind energy industryPrior experience as a Wind Site Manager, Operations Manager, Regional Service Manager, Field Service Manager, Program Manager, or similar leadership role supporting wind turbine operationsDemonstrated experience managing wind turbine technicians, field service personnel, or traveling renewable energy crewsStrong understanding of wind turbine maintenance activities, major component exchanges, commissioning, troubleshooting, and field operationsExperience supporting utility-scale wind projects and multi-site technician deployment programsKnowledge of wind industry safety requirements, technician certifications, and training standards including GWO programsProven leadership experience managing both people and operational executionStrong customer relationship management and stakeholder communication skillsAbility to manage multiple sites, competing priorities, and large-scale field operations simultaneously
Preferred Qualifications
Experience working with major wind OEMs such as GE Vernova, Vestas, Siemens Gamesa, Nordex, or EnerconPMP certification or equivalent project/program management credentialsPrevious oversight of large technician networks supporting utility-scale wind portfoliosExperience managing operational budgets, workforce forecasting, and service delivery financialsBackground in field service operations, renewable energy logistics, or wind farm asset management
Compensation:
$60/hr to $64/hr.
Exact compensation may vary based on several factors, including skills, experience, and education.
Benefit packages for this role will start on the 1st day of employment and include medical, dental, and vision insurance, as well as HSA, FSA, and DCFSA account options, and 401k retirement account access with employer matching. Employees in this role are also entitled to paid sick leave and/or other paid time off as provided by applicable law.
