Job Description

NAES Corporation is seeking a Process Operator for the Renewable Natural Gas facility in Mitchell, SD. The role involves safe operation and maintenance of the plant, including monitoring equipment, troubleshooting issues, and performing lab analyses. Candidates should have a high school diploma, technical training preferred, and some knowledge of anaerobic digestion. The position requires physical stamina and may involve varied shifts, including on-call duties.
The Process Operator at the Athena RNG project is responsible for performing activities associated with the safe and efficient operation and maintenance of the facilities in compliance with all regulatory permits. Responsibilities will include performing a variety of skilled operational tasks throughout the day which includes interfacing with the SCADA system, running analytical tests and performing technical maintenance work supporting the operation.Primary DutiesAssist with operations, maintenance and overall activities associated with the facilityAssist in the anaerobic digestion process by monitoring equipment, gauges and charts in the digester, electrical generation, and waste treatment processesRecord and analyze statistical data concerning plant operations ensuring that the plant is running as specifiedTroubleshoot failures and malfunctions to determine the root cause and maintain, operate, repair and replace equipment as necessaryMaintain, modify or repair instrumentation and control equipment including recorders, flowmeter and other water quality monitoring equipmentCollect samples for testing and reporting and performs lab analysis for process controlEnsure that plant operates within required standardsMonitor performance of electrical systems, circuits or equipment of the treatment plantMaintain a clean and presentable plant environmentOther duties and project work as assignedPhysical Requirements and Working ConditionsPhysical requirements include standing for extended periods, stair and ladder climbing and routinely lifting up to 50 pounds. Protective equipment such as hard hats, safety glasses, air masks, ear protection and others must be worn in the performance of some duties. Work with hazardous materials may be required.Fit for DutyAll employees will participate in the Fitness for Duty Program. This program includes a post-offer physical examination and drug screening and post-employment random drug screening. There are extensive smoking restrictions in and around the facility.Work ScheduleThis position offers a regular scheduled Monday to Friday work week, with an 8-hour day shift. Position requires extended working hours and varied shifts with the possibility of weekend and holiday work, as required by schedules, workload and plant conditions. "On call" status will periodically be required.CompensationThe starting hourly pay will range from $22.00 to $32.00, depending on experience, with the higher end reserved for candidates with RNG experience, and will include an annual performance bonus.Job QualificationsHigh school diploma or equivalency; technical college degree or vocational training desired.
