Job Description

Newtility, LLC seeks a Power Systems Engineer to design and troubleshoot renewable energy projects in Portland, ME. Responsibilities include designing electrical systems, conducting power studies, building control panels, and collaborating with teams. The role offers hands-on experience and is suitable for candidates with varying levels of experience. The company provides competitive benefits and a hybrid work model, emphasizing growth in renewable energy engineering.
SUMMARY:

Work directly on systems that others only study: from day one, you will design, troubleshoot, and commission real-world renewable energy and infrastructure projects, gaining more hands-on experience than most engineers get in years.

WHAT YOU WILL DO:

• Design electrical protection and control systems for renewable and distributed power generation projects

• Support protective relaying, system modeling, power studies, engineering analysis, and project-level design

• Build and test control panels in-house

• Program, test, and commission protective relays, control systems, switchgear, generators, inverters, and a wide variety of other equipment in the field

• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, interfacing directly with clients, contractors, and vendors

WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR:

• 0 to 20+ years of experience in electrical engineering

• Ability to change gears quickly and think independently

• Comfort moving between the office and field work

• Passion for learning and a desire to understand the whole system, not just one piece

ABOUT NEWTILITY:

At Newtility, we engineer, build, and commission complex power and control systems for renewable energy projects, microgrids, and utility infrastructure. We design projects, perform power system studies, develop control logic, and fabricate custom control panels…and get our hands dirty in the field bringing these systems to life. We are the engineers others look to when a project is difficult, unusual, or mission critical.

WHY CHOOSE US:

• Competitive salary, benefits, and 401k

• Hybrid work flexibility with a hands-on, high-trust, and fun team of experienced professionals

• Accelerate your growth with exposure to renewable energy, traditional generation, utilities (electric, gas, & water/wastewater), microgrids and more

• Entry-level engineers welcome: Newtility is the Power Engineering Bootcamp you get paid for!
