Postdoctoral Researcher - Water Resources

Disability Solutions is seeking a Postdoctoral Researcher in Water Resources based in Cincinnati, OH. The role involves developing hydrological models, utilizing remote sensing, and applying machine learning to simulate river discharge. Candidates must have a Ph.D. in relevant fields and strong research skills. Experience in hydrologic modeling and programming is preferred. The position requires collaboration with a research team and contributions to academic publications.
Key Responsibilities
• Develop and implement methods using hydrological models, remote sensing, data assimilation, and machine learning techniques to simulate global river discharge.
• Work closely with the research team to achieve project goals and objectives.
• Contribute to the development of research papers and presentations for academic and scientific conferences.
Requirements
• Ph.D. in Hydrology, Geosciences, Water Resources, Computer Science, Statistics, or related fields required by the start date.
• In-depth knowledge of specialized field, process or discipline.
• May require experience with specialized software programs.
Desirable Skills and Qualifications
• Experience in large-scale hydrologic modeling and remote sensing.
• Skills in programming languages (e.g., Python, R, or FORTRAN).
• Research skills and interests in geospatial analysis (e.g., processing satellite datasets), data assimilation, and machine learning.
• Demonstrated written and verbal communication skills, ability to think critically, and experience in leading high-impact scientific publications.
