The Pipeline Technician position at TC Energy involves supporting the operation and maintenance of natural gas facilities. Responsibilities
• Locating and marking underground facilities per 811
,
• Oversee and manage pipeline or utility crossings and encroachments
,
• Identify, investigate and address encroachments and aerial patrol observations
,
• Perform scheduled preventative maintenance tasks including facility inspections and operation of valves and actuators
,
• Conduct maintenance activities such as leak repair, vegetation management, and inspection of right-of-way
,
• Assist with tie-ins of mainline valves and pipe, and maintenance of launchers and receivers
,
• Patrol pipeline right-of-way and assist with leak surveys
,
• Troubleshoot, operate, and maintain gas-fired reciprocating compressors and various types of equipment
,
• Plan and coordinate activities for maintenance and capital construction projects
,
• Launch, monitor, and receive pipeline pigs and develop pigging plans
,
• Conduct internal pipeline cleaning or pigging operations
,
• Monitor system parameters and pressures to assure operations within requirements
,
• Support US Regulatory Compliance and external inspection agencies
,
• Complete work orders and enter data into job plans in SAP/BlueWorx
,
• Perform remedial and preventative maintenance and maintain facility appearance
Requirements
• High school diploma or equivalent
,
• Demonstrated work experience in energy, industrial plant or related industry
,
• Experience in the use of Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and related software
Nice-to-haves
• Experience locating and marking pipeline infrastructure
,
• Knowledge of internal combustion engines and centrifugal gas compressors
,
• Experience in repairing and remediating pipeline issues
,
• Experience with valve and relief valve operation, inspection, maintenance and repair
,
• Ability to interpret technical reference documents and P&ID drawings
,
• CDL with Hazmat preferred for fluid handling
