About the position
The Outdoor School Climate Change Curriculum Facilitator is a full-time professional faculty position at Oregon State University, responsible for leading the development of climate change curriculum aimed at youth. This role involves coordinating curriculum development, managing writing teams, and ensuring the curriculum is inclusive and culturally responsive. The facilitator will work closely with various stakeholders, including educators and Tribal Nations, to create lesson plans that align with national science standards and promote positive youth development. The position is funded through a USDA grant and is part of a multi-year project focused on smart agriculture and forestry education.
Responsibilities
• Facilitate the management of the climate change curriculum project to achieve outcomes related to developing a comprehensive curriculum.

• Coordinate logistics for curriculum content development, including lesson plan frameworks and templates.

• Supervise writing team managers and lesson writers to create high-quality climate lessons.

• Develop and implement pilot programs for testing and revising lesson plans.

• Ensure lessons are culturally responsive and accessible to diverse youth populations.

• Manage relationships between writing teams and project partners, ensuring effective communication.

• Provide professional development training for educators to ensure effective lesson delivery.

• Attend and represent the project team at relevant events and conferences.
Requirements
• Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field such as Agriculture, Education, or Public Health.

• At least five years of relevant experience in project coordination and program management.

• At least three years of experience in curriculum design and writing related to agriculture or climate change education.

• Demonstrated experience facilitating collaborations with diverse stakeholders, including Tribal Nations.

• Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to create strong professional relationships.

• Demonstrated commitment to promoting diversity, equity, and inclusion.
Nice-to-haves
• Master's Degree in a relevant field.
