Job Description

Maryland Environmental Service is hiring an entry-level Operator-In-Training (OIT) for a 3-year apprenticeship at their wastewater facility in Rising Sun, MD. The position offers on-the-job training, mentoring, and a starting salary of $38,230 with benefits. Candidates must have a High School Diploma or GED and a valid driver's license. The job requires working in varying conditions, including weekends and holidays.

Job Description:

Maryland Environmental Service has an opening for an entry-level Operator-In-Training (OIT) to work at our wastewater facility in Rising Sun, MD. The OIT apprenticeship is a 3-year program that includes on-the-job training, an independent study program, and professional in-house mentoring and coaching. Starting OIT salary is $38,230, with excellent benefits. During the 3-year period, there will be periodic pay raises based on motivation and performance. Successful graduates of the program will be offered Operator positions with MES.

Estimated Pay Range:

$38,230.40

Minimum Requirements:

Some MES facilities provide services 365 days a year, which might mean that you could be required to work in varying weather conditions, on weekends and holidays, or be called to work during emergencies.

To be considered for the OIT Program, you must have a High School Diploma or GED, and a driver's license with less than 5 points. Candidates who are mechanically inclined and have good, basic math skills will excel.
