Job Description
Astrodyne TDI is seeking a hands-on NPI Technician for their EMI Filters Department in Hackettstown, NJ. Responsibilities include assembling power electronics, creating test plans, troubleshooting prototypes, and collaborating with engineers. Candidates should have a high school diploma (associate degree preferred), at least 2 years of experience in electronics, and proficiency with electronic test equipment. Strong communication skills and technical report writing are also required.
Are you a hands-on technician with a passion for electronics? Astrodyne TDI is looking for a skilled NPI Technician to join our EMI Filters Department.
About The Role:
• Assembling power electronic systems and prototypes according to specifications.
• Assist with creating and implementing test plans for prototype EMI Filters and Power distribution Units (PDUs).
• Collaborate with engineers to identify and solve developmental problems during the first-time build process.
• Troubleshoot and perform failure analysis on prototype EMI Filters and PDUs.
• Interact with the production team to transfer final units to production.
What We Are Looking For:
• Minimum High School Diploma / GED Required; Associate's Degree in Electronic Technology or similar discipline preferred.
• At least 2 years of experience working in electronics.
• Practical understanding of Electrical Engineering concepts, proficiency with electronic test equipment (Oscilloscope, DMM, etc.) and hands-on mechanical experience.
• Familiarity with J-STD and IPC-610/620 standards preferred.
• Strong communication skills, ability to write comprehensive technical reports, and proficient in Microsoft Word & Excel.
