Job Description

Walker Creek Ranch is offering ten-month Naturalist Internships for leading environmental education programs for 5th and 6th graders in Petaluma, CA. Interns will guide hikes and lessons, ensuring a safe and inclusive environment. The role includes paid training and mentorship, focusing on hands-on environmental science activities. This is an on-site position, as it takes place in a rural outdoor setting.
Walker Creek Ranch is located in rural West Marin on 1700 acres of beautiful ranch land and is owned and operated by Marin County Office of Education. We offer residential environmental education programs tailored toward 5th and 6th grade students. The outdoor school is dedicated to providing equitable, inclusive, and high-quality educational experiences for teachers and students that inspire appreciation and stewardship of the natural world. Overview: This is a ten-month paid internship in which Interns are responsible for leading hikes, teambuilding, and lessons for groups of approximately twenty students from a variety of cultural, socioeconomic, and educational backgrounds.
