Job Summary:
We are seeking a seasoned Hazard Mitigation Specialist to join our team at Idaho State Job Bank. In this role, you will lead teams and projects to support climate resilience planning, risk assessments, and project development of climate resilient solutions. Your expertise in providing technical assistance to Federal, State, and local governments, as well as Tribal Nations, will be invaluable in helping them develop and implement effective hazard mitigation initiatives.
About the Role:
This is a senior-level position that requires strong leadership skills, excellent technical skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment. You will work closely with our clients to understand their needs and develop customized solutions to meet their goals.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement effective hazard mitigation strategies
- Provide technical assistance to Federal, State, and local governments, as well as Tribal Nations
- Manage large, complex task orders and teams to support hazard mitigation initiatives
- Lead project teams and mentor junior staff
- Prepare, monitor, and manage project budgets and schedules
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g., environmental science, urban planning)
- Minimum 10 years of experience in hazard mitigation or a related field
- Excellent technical skills in environmental planning and historic preservation
- Strong budgeting and scheduling skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines
